Slide Layout Power Point 07

I just upgraded to Power Point 07 and noticed that the slide layouts are a
bit different. I teach high school and i try to complete basic power points
as quickly as possible. The slide layout I used allowed me to cut and paste
pictures from google images directly into power point without savig the file
first and then importing. I played around a bit and can still cut and paste,
but I first have to delete the box that says "add content" then I paste to a
blank spot. Is there any way I can customize the slide to work the way the
old layout did? I'll keep playing around, but I was hoping somebody had a
quick fix/suggestion.
Thanks in advance.

First,
I don't recommend adding graphics to PPT via cut and paste. It isn't the
safest way to do it. (Think potential corruption, etc.). Instead, save the
graphic to your hard drive and add it from there.

That said, you can still do what you want. Change to the new Picture Slide
layouts. Select the placeholder, then paste in your graphic. As long as you
have one of the picture placeholders selected, your picture will go in the
placeholder. You might find that using the new Picture Layouts for your
graphics slides gets you a much nicer look than you expect. (This does work
with the regular content placeholders as well, but you have to be sure you
have the placeholder selected, not the contents of the placeholder
selected.)

If that doesn't get you close enough, you can select either the blank layout
or create your own layout for your slides. Post back if you want more
information on doing that.

Thanks for your response Kathy.

I know it doesnt' seem like a lot, but I was hoping to avoid saving the file
to my hard drive, then inserting the photo via that method.

I understand that you still want to just paste in the photo. That is why I
gave you the second half of the post...
When you do the paste with the placeholder selected, you graphic (photo)
should replace the placeholder - as long as the placeholder can contain a
graphic.(Which means using any of the slide layouts that contain either
content placeholders or the picture placeholder.)

First, I want to say thank you for taking the time to help me out.
Second, I'll play around and see if I can get that to work for me.
