Slide build

I'm using Powerpoint 2000 and I want to have a series of bullet points that
will appear only when i click the mouse.
I used to use a something called "build" - but the side animatiaon does not
appear to offer the same functionality.
Can anyone tell me how to achieve what "build" used to do?
