Slide Bars have disappeared on display panel

Due to recently installing Adobe CS3 I had to change the screen resolution
from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768 (minimal requirement for installation by
Adobe). I also had to have more memory installed for the software in case
this might be relevant to the new problem.

Since changing, I no longer have the scroll (slide) bars on the right side
or bottom of the screen when there is more to view than what fits on the
screen.

How to I change my settings to have the slide bars reappear?

I can scroll by clicking on the area & using the arrow buttons, but prefer
using the bars.

The back of your monitor has a tag with its maximum resolution. It may not
be able to go that high (1024x768) and is only presenting that part of your
desktop that will fit. Your video card will go that high, but the monitor
can't do it.

The maximum resolution according to the Samsung website for my 940BW is
1440*900.
I have downloaded an available driver (don't know if it was different than
the one I had) and nothing has changed.

Did you press the Auto (adjust) button to align the screen to the new
resolution?
