Sleeping playing media

S

Sla#s

Since a recent update my WinXP PC has started to enter stand by mode whilst
playing music or video even though it was set not to when playing media.
(But I can't seem to find where I set this ...!)

Current solution is to disable sleep completely but I would prefer to return
to the 'standby after x time unless media playing'

Any clues?

TIA

Which version of Media Player are you using?

Ver 11 but it's not used, I prefer iTunes, and Squeezebox for audio and
VLC or Media Player Classic for Video.

Note: all of these worked fine until a recent update.

Yes that is what I have done as a temporary expedient but it use to:
'standby after x time unless media playing'.
A mode which I'm trying to get back to.

Wow! All five players *now* will allow Windows to fall into sleep mode
after the latest update? If so, the solution is obvious. Remove the
latest update and wait until the next one comes out and see if MS fixed it.

Oh yes, there was something I meant to ask you about Media Player v11.
As WMP v12 will pick up at the exact point where it hibernated / standby
at. But WMP v9 and v10 will only restart at the beginning of the file
once again. And my question is how does v11 handle this?

Didn't know one could do that!
But I've got Squeezebox to work by undoing "don't allow standby" shutting it
down then restarting it and redoing "Don't allow standby" - I will try this
with the others.
