Slaving win 98 drive?

I have a win me on my old computer. I now have an xp pro box but after a move
cannot find my original software. Is there a possibility of slaving the 98
drive and being able to access the software since xp recognizes fat 32
drives? I know that trouble shooting an xp issue can usually be resolved by
slaving an xp harddrive on an xp system... Curious

I'm not entirely clear on what you're asking. First you say "win
me," then you say "the 98 drive."

If what you want to do is hook up a drive with either Windows Me
or Windows 98 to a Windows XP computer, and run programs under XP
from that Windows Me or Windows 98 drive, the answer is no.

It has nothing to do with XP recognizing FAT32 drives. All of
those programs have references in their local registry (and
elsewhere within Windows) which they need to run. Since you won't
be using their local copy of Windows, the programs won't run. You
can get data from an older system this way, but not installed
software.

I know that trouble shooting an xp issue
can usually be resolved by slaving an xp harddrive on an xp
system...

Usually? Maybe occasionally, but I wouldn't say usually.
