Slave Drive no longer shows File System info (FAT32)

I reinstalled XP Pro on my C drive (40gb NTFS). After completion of
reinstall, my D
drive (120gb FAT32) File System info disappeared. D drive no longer shows
up in My Computer, but is displyed in the Control Panel\Computer
Management\Administrative Tools\Storage\Disk Management as blank volume name
(no drive letter assigned, no volume name),Layout: Partition, Type: Basic,
File System is blank, Status: Healthy (Active), 114.49gb.

How can I restore my D drive? I cannot use scandisk or checkdisk or Norton
Disk Doctor as they do not see Drive D. I tried using Diskpart.exe thru
command line but Diskpart will not let me assign a drive letter. Diskpart
sees this drive as volume #3. I do not want to reformat and lose all my
data. C drive is the operating system and D drive is where I store all my
data (documents, photos, music, scanned images/documents).

Any ideas anyone?

While you are here:

"but is displyed in the Control Panel\Computer Management\Administrative
Tools\Storage\Disk Management as blank"

Right click on the drive and see if you can change/add a drive letter to it?

No! XP won't let me change the drive letter thru the Administrative Tools
Panel or thru using Diskpart in the Command Line prompt!

Well, the next logical question, I think, is: Is it formatted? If it is not
then look here:

This next question is not meant to sound snide or crude. Do you have any
additional information? Mainly have you used any partitioning software that
might have made it hidden or the like? If so when you did this did you set
it to a primary or to a logical drive? In almost all cases there is a
solution it's just a matter of getting enough information to find it.

This hard drive (D drive 120gb) is not a new hard drive. It was in use as my
data hard drive. It was already in FAT32 format with about 60gb of data. I
had backed up all my personal files from C drive (40gb) onto it prior to
reinstalling XP. Therefore I can only surmise that it has lost or corrupted
it's File Attribute Tables and therefore my system sees it as an unformatted
hard drive. Or else maybe somehow when I reinstalled onto C drive the
reinstaller may have quick formatted my D drive w/NTFS (though I don't know
why it would do that as I had quick formatted my C drive as part of my
reinstall of my XP Pro). I have done this reinstall before with no problems.
I was reinstalling because some of my older software/drivers acted up after
installing SP2 and screwed up my system.
