Slash as first character in a cell

When I try to use a slash as the first character in a cell, pseudo keys
appear above the ribbon. I think these are short cuts to activate menu
commands. How do I turn this off in Excel 2007. I read a similar post
regarding Excel 2003 but I can't find the the Tools & Transition option.

Office Button>Excel Options>From access options dialog select the Advanced
page>scroll all the way down to Lotus compatibility and check 'Transition
Navigation Keys'.

Thanks for the map to the problem. I left the Transition button unchecked
and deleted the slash from the "Microsoft Office Excel menu key" option. This
solved the problem. Yeah! Thanks again.
