SL*.tmp and *.cbd

"SL*.tmp is trying to launch C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe, or use
another program to gain access to privileged resources".

The * could be any combination of letters and numbers. Zone Alarm is
picking up on these files and warning me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, in my root directory, I found many files such as *.cbd where the
* is represented by a three digit number followed by an underscore and
a single number (example: 224_1.cbd). ZA isn't picking these up.

I've tried Googling with no success.

I've also submitted these files to www.virustotal.com and nothing was
found.

Any info out there? Thanks........

If you could, download hijackthis and/or autoruns and post the logs
for it. If you need, I can probably write a removal utility for it.
Feel free to contact me at (e-mail address removed).

Thank you for the offer. But I don't know if these files are the
result of malware. I might be removing necessary files.

I just solved a similar problem thanks to Smart Computing. The program
attempting to access the computer is Windows Update. Allow it next
time, and the update will be installed and the error message should
quit appearing.
