HI,

I'm using a Win2000 computer as a backup server. I want
that computer to boot up without havin to add the password
(because it doesn't have a monitor).

A friend (who I've lost contact with) had set it up like
that once, but I lost the setting when I reformatted.

Thanks

Leo

I don't know about set up as a server, but when I install W2k there is
an option, during the install, to say that the computer will always be
used by one person, and select the Administrator as that person, and
then enter the Admin password, twice, to verify the process

When I start my computer... is just starts with no logon needed

IF this works with a server, you may need to format again and install
again, and pay attention to the options during W2k installation

go into the control panel and double click on "users and passwords".
The first screen, under users, has a box that asks that very question!
Remove the check and no more asking for a password.
