Size of tasks in taskbar

does anybody know how to change the size (width) of the tasks in the taskbar (not the taskbar itself)?

These are dynamic and adjust the width to accomodate the number of programs
when you start or close a program.

Yes.

Just add a string called MinWidth to the registry under

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics\

and adjust the value accordingly. Just to give you a rough starting point,
I set mine to -1400, which is about 3/4 the normal size.
