Size of Firefox's bookmarks.html file?

My bookmarks.html file in Firefox is 2.3Mb. When I export my bookmarks
and import them into IE, they total 108kB. (Yes, that's MEGA bytes for
Firefox and KILO bytes for IE).

I have about 1,800 bookmarks in total.

Is the size of my bookmarks.html files reasonable? If so, why does
Firefox take around 20 times as much storage as IE for the same set of
bookmarks? If not, how can I fix this?

is this what you compared?
you have bookmarks.html

then you use ie's import to favorites (lnk files)
then export the lnk's back into html?

then you compared the two html files sizes? yes?

if you have set to show icons in bookmarks, some are stored in the bookmarks file.
enough favicons could add up.

there may be other info lost in translating to, then from (or vice versa).

date last accessed
date created
description
separators
other things?

Are you using the extension Favicon? I noticed my bookmarks files growing
rather large until I disabled it.
