Since SP4, Word won't start

Have win 2000 server, installed SP4, now word opens to doc
and immediately closes. Tools says I have no apphelp.dll
but not sure if that's the problem.

I have the same problems with Excel files.

If I open a *.xls file from a network share the whole
computer hangs and I can't kill any process or restart.

In the Explorer I can copy the file to c:\ and it works
fine. It's just when I open from a share that it happens.

This appeared after installaiotn of SP4.

Server and client is 2000.
