one go to get "SIMPLE, STRAIGHT, EXPLICIT" answers
without putting up with sarcasm. Have you ever thought
about "taking a nap". I see you guys "spinning" and
jumping to conclusions and "assuming" things, question
after question. You give straight IT answers instead of
trying to help someone with their problems. People are
simply trying to figure out what is wrong with their
system, and they are not "usually" very clear with what
they are asking. But instead you guys act like a..holes
because you know something they do not. COME ON GUYS TRY
AND HELP! STOP JERKING PEOPLE AROUND AND CALLING
THEM "TO LEARN" OR "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING" OR
referring them to a pyschic line or to some ADVERTISEMENT
THAT you are promoting. If people are going to the

Well to be honest with you, You were very clear what you were asking in
your previous post.
I would have to agree with one of the reply's you received. This is NOT
really the place to learn about BIOS.
If you are having a problem with your computer that relates to Windows Xp
then maybe someone here can help IF you can describe the problem.
"IF", you do have a problem ? Did someone tell you that Flashing the Bios
may help?
If so then I also agree that it is best done by a Professional.
"what class is this for?" , refers to the fact that IT students often try
to find quick answers to there homework here.
Which ALSO implies that the questions you asked may just be more then the
average PC user would ask. (without some urgent reason)
My answer is. this is a "Help and Support" Newsgroup, not a class room.
Go do a google search. you'll get more info there then you ever could here.

I'm going to suggest you calm down. Ranting at people will get you nowhere.
To put things into perspective you might want to post to alt.os.windows-xp
and I assure you that you will quickly see the difference between this group
and that.

With all due respect Lacey I read your earlier post. Plato inferred that you
are in a computer class (program of study) and you had a homework assignment
for which you were seeking answers. In fact that was my first thought as
well. He gave you a link to www.bootdisk.com and if you bother to look
through his site you may well find answers to some of your questions. Sinbad
gave you some very decent answers which were neither condescending nor where
they techno babble.

I'm not familiar with the source or reason for this post, but it is my
observation that the help offered in this group is "generally" good or at
least benign. Having said that, when I post questions to usenet, I do so
with the understanding that I'm getting free advice, which may or may not
include bad advice, rude suggestions, and/or a condescending tone.

Personally, I'll take condescending, and I'll even take down right rudeness
as long as I'm getting a good answer!

Wow, as the others have said you are the one with the issue here not the
people trying to give you answers.
This post is ridiculous and to tell you the truth you started your last post
with the wrong tone to begin with.
If you want answers try being civil and posting the questions properly.
Even your bad post resulted in good answers.
You want to be attacked by those of us here that are trying to help simply
keep posting in the tome you post in currently. You will first be attacked
and second added to most people's kill files so we won't see your posts at
all.

Please understand that a newsgroup is a public place. Anyone can
reply to a message here, and with as many participants as there
are here, you get an enormous variety of personalities and styles
of helping. Some people know a lot, others know next to nothing
and give wrong answers. Some people are polite, others rude. Some
people take pains to explain things in detail, others are curt
and as a result, their answers are often useless. Some people are
obscene, some are outright trolls, some do nothing but correct
grammar and spelling, etc., etc., etc.

This is the nature of newsgroups. You need to learn to get what
you can from the helpful messages and ignore the unhelpful ones.
If you can't deal with the fact that not everyone is going to be
as helpful as you would like them to be, then newsgroups aren't
the place for you.

As newsgroups go, by the way, this is a pretty polite one. If you
think there are a lot of people jerking others around here, you
should see some of the others.

By the way, one other comment. You're using the web-based
newsreader to read this newsgroup. That's the slowest, clunkiest,
most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and switch
to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with
Windows. If you do so, you will find that Outlook Express gives
you the ability to filter out messages from people you find
