Simplify use of Address Book in Word 2002

In previous Word programs, I had no problem using my address book. When I
try to use the Address Book in Word 2002, I am told "Logon Failed" due to
complex integration with Microsoft Exchange. I am an individual user, not a
corporation. I would like a simple access to Address Book.

This function is designed to Word in conjunction with Outlook's contacts
list. It is not compatible with Outlook Express address book (unless you
have the corporate product Microsoft Exchange).

Word has never been able to use the WAB (Windows Address Book) that is used
in, for example, Outlook Express. It must use a MAPI-compliant address book
such as Contacts folder in Outlook, which is a PAB (Personal Address Book);

Word 2002 raises the bar, however; in order to use Outlook Contacts as an
address book in Word, you must have Outlook selected as your default email
client. I find this extremely annoying, but there it is.
