When sending a meeting request from XP or Outlook 2002, simply:

Open your meeting request, select tools, send as icalendar (to turn off the
checkmark).

Now other Outlook users with older versions will be able to receive and
respond to your meeting request properly.

Does anyone know of a way to permanently set it this way?

The problem is a bug in Outlook 2000 only. If you simply uncheck the
reminder, it will work. No other version of Outlook has this problem except
Outlook 2000.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
