Hi All,
For some reason I can't download ANYTHING using IE6. When I click on a
typical download link, I get the "file download" box that pops up. And it
looks to be validating the file name and site path. Normally another window
would pop-up asking me where do I want to save the file on my PC. But that
box never comes up. Instead about 8 seconds after the "file download" window
pops up I get a message, " Internet Explorer was not able to open this
Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
Please try again later." This happen on any site I attempt to download from.
So far in an attempt to resolve, I have run Norton System Works to fix any
system problems.... Nothing
Ran Anti-Spyware program..... Nothing
Even managed to do a re-install of IE6 using a registry hack..... Nothing
Aside from re-installing Windows XP from CD, (don't want hassle of finding
all my drivers disks, backing up data, reconfiguring, BLAH,BLAH) is there
thing else I can try?
BTW- Mozilla Firefox can download no problem. It's just that not enough
sites I visit fully support it, as is the case with IE6. Or else I would just
switch browsers and move on.
Your ideas are very much welcomed. Thanks in advance
