Hi,

Way back in the mid-90's a friend and I discovered a simple little free
program which allowed you to compose a simple "post-It" note on your PC
screen, and send it to another computer's IP address, where it simply popped
up on their screen. That's all it did.

I want it back, but I cannot remember its name. I would probably remember
if I heard it.

Unfortunately that friend has passed away, so I can't ask him...

Anyone out there remember it?

I know there are plenty of "post-it" type programs out there, but they're
all WAY too big and sophisticated... And cost money.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
:)

I do remember it - I used it with Win 3.1/3.11... it was called WinPopUp...

You peaked my interest in the old program and what I have searched says it
is not available in XP...(you can, from what I understand, send messages
directly to a pc from the command prompt via netsend... )

I found this, a replacement for XP, and it's free... haven't tried it.. but
if you google around under WinPopUp you'll come across a few threads...

Hi, thanks for your reply. :)

Hmmm... maybe there were a couple. I just found an old "Cica archives" CD
and there was a thing called "Sticky" which looked like it. It seemed to
work ok. Not finished testing.

Found Winpopup, but you have to pay for it.

Am currently trying out "Netsend" from Fomine, which looks promising, but
uses Windows messenger which is an Adware risk. Anyhow, getting close I
think.

Thanks again...
:)
