Hi,

Is there a simple and easy way for file sharing between two XP Pro machines,
for one is joined a domain and another is a pure home user and has not
joined any domain.

The two machines share a broadband router for Internet connection.

When browsing under Microsoft Windows Network, I can see one is under the
workgroup (MSHOME - I guess this is the default name for workgroup) and the
other is under its domain name.

However, none of the two computers can access its shared folder.

Kindly advise what is the best approach to access each one's shared folders,
or is it possible?

PS: We don't wish to change the current setup for domain member or
workgroup.

Thanks in advance.

If you can at least "see" one from the other, than you're doing sort of well.
You have connectivity, and browsing. Now, you have to resolve the issue of
authentication / authorisation.

You have 2 choices:
# Enable the Guest account on both, for network access, to access either from
the other.
# Setup a local account, with matching password, on both. Use the local
account, whenever logging on to either, to access the other.

You may want to discuss this issue with the folks who are responsible for the
domain where the one is a member. Network support folks may have some
guidelines, which will affect what authentication that computer should use.
Work with them not against them.
