Simple image editor?

Hello!

What is the simplest/easiest to use, freeware, image editor?

I have GIMP (free) and [OT] an old version of Photoshop and Photo-Brush
(both commercial), they're good for complex photo editing, but not for
simple editing.

The application is for editing scanned images (basically, removing noise,
applying blur/sharpen, adjust of brightness/contrast). My scanner has some
software, but it doesn't work well on Windows XP, not even in compatibility
mode with Windows 98.

Thanks!

Picasa2 sounds like what you're looking for. It will also want to index
all of your photos but you can change that in the tools/options setting.

Picasa2 seems to do. Also, XnView works for simpler operations and has a
nice tabbed browsing interface.

Thanks.

I love XnView's tabbed interface.

Are there such things as simple images?
