If i disable simple file sharing is this going to affect my home network?
What i mean by this is will i still be able to access shared docs and
resources within my home network?

Reggie,

If you disable Simple File Sharing, you'll have Advanced / Classical File
Sharing. With Guest given the proper access to the shared folders and files,
you should have no problems. You'll simply have the ability to use accounts in
addition to Guest for network access authentication.

With simple file sharing enabled, all users on all computers can
access shared resources on your home network. This is convenient for
a typical home network where you trust everyone.

If you disable simple file sharing, only users who you give explicit
permission will be able to access shared resources. Ron Lowe and I
have written a web page with full details:

Why do you want to disable simple file sharing?
