I got SilverFast se with a new Canon 8800f scanner
Is it worth installing?

When you want to scan something, you need to launch software that
controls the scanner. Your scanner probably came with basic software
that allows you to make a scan.(CanoScan) Silverfast also does this
only it has a lot more options. It allows you a lot more control over
your scan.

Is it the SE or Ai version? If it is SE, make sure to realize it only
outputs at 24 bit (vs. 48 bit) in one mode (HDR).
