Silly questions

I have Windows XP with SP2 and I do not use AOL. However, I notice from
Task Manager that there are three processes running as follows:-
AOLacsd.exe. (under User Name "System")
AOLDial.exe. (under my under name)
AOLSP Scheduler.exe (under my user name)
None of the three is registering any CPU usage, but they are using several
MB of memory. As far as I can determine the latter 2 are in the Startup
folder displayed by MSCONFIG.

The silly questions are:- Do I need these three processes running? If not,
is it safe to un-tick them in the Startup tab of msconfig?

Yes. You might want to look in Control Panel/Add Remove and see if there
is anything AOL in there.
