Silent Night Radio Player

Has anyone tried Silent Night Radio Player?

well, you know, I have had it on my machine for many months, but had
hardly looked at it...so I just now fired it up and played a few MP3s,
and then looked at the radio section. It had a dozen pre-set radio
channels, (none of which are likely to be MY taste)...but they ones I
tried played just fine! So far, it seems to a perfectly workable piece
of software...with recording possibilities built in...(I have NOT
tried recording yet).....and a nice MP3 tag editor.

I will keep messing with it....it looks good...

I found a lot of the stations I wanted to try came up as "Not
Playing", but that could just be a time-zone thing.

The biggest biggest drawback for me is that you can't add your own
stations to it. They say on the website that they'd like to add
that as a future feature, so it's worth keeping an eye on -- but
for the moment I'll stick with "Sreamer", as that lets me add my
own stations (and has stream recording as well).

yes...as I messed with it yesterday, I found this strange mixture of
stations..(some of which, indeed, were not playing)...and I started
looking for ways to add some...WHOA!....I could barely believe there
was no way.

Well, I'll look at it again someday....and thanks for the "Screamer"
link....

I use it a lot (listening to CBC Radio 2 at the moment).

The only real problem with Screamer is that (as explained on the
website) it doesn't do Real Media streams -- which locks out almost
all of the BBC stations. (I listen to those through the browser,
using Real Alternative).

You can do this by editing "favorites.xml". Not very convenient, but it
works.
