signing back on as administrator

I can not seem to be able to sign back onto my windows xp
as the administrator. earlier today I set up my son with
a log-on of his own....My name and password seem to have
disappeared all together...now I have no way of getting
sign into windows xp as an administrator...please help..

As far as I know, you can only sign in as administrator in
safe mode.
