Signatures causing problems with templates

Hi there, I am using Outlook 2003. I have created and saved a template mail
(with no signature inserted in it). My problem is that when i reopen the
template the signature (which I understand I have set for all new mails)
appears at the top of the message body thus pushing the text down under it?
Surely this isn't by design. How can I get the template to open with the
text at the top and the signature underneath it? Any suggestions greatly
appreciated!

By "a template mail," do you mean a custom form .oft file? Outlook always inserts the signature at the top of the message, but the behavior for custom forms has changed recently. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/ol2003problems.htm#sp2
