signature and font problem reading pane too

I made a change to my outlook by sending an email which changed my reading
pane and adds mb to the message size. A simple 3 line message without
signature can be 1 mb or larger. Others cannot open them. They stall my
computer. Some incoming mail will not view at all. I can hit reply and see
the text that is not visible in the reading pain. I started having problems
with the signature not giving me a space above it to type. In trying to fix
this something happened to the formatting of outgoing mail and viewing it in
the reading pane. It underlines as a default? Help

It's hard to say what is going on without any configuration details (such as
at least the version of Outlook) or in which area you made a change.

From the information provided, I would say to try it without a default
signature and just send test message with some text. What size is the
message now?

Also, it sounds like you have a virus scanner installed which integrates
itself with Outlook. Uninstall this integration part of your virus scanner
and try again; you'd still be sufficiently protected by your on-access
scanner part of the virus scanner. For more details see;

Sorry it is Office 2007 on Vista.
I disabled Mcafee, I have tried without signatures. It still doesnt change
the way the reading pane works but plain text emails drop the problem. It
occurs in html and rich text. Though this fixes my send problem it does not
fix my view problem. Something happened when I did not have the appropriate
space before the signature and now the formatting seems to be related to the
old signature formatting.
