Hi,

I have a customer that sends us data every day and one of the field names
has the # sign in it. The field is named "ORD #" without the quotes. I have
to export the file as a text file and Access is converting the # sign to a
period (.) to make the field name be "ORD ." .

Is there a way to keep the # sign in tact when exporting the records?

Jim,
I tried to replicate your problem, but could not get the # to convert to a
'.'
I tried using the export wizard, I used both delimited and fixed width
fields.
I tried with the # at the end of a field name.
In fact, the field name does not export at all, only the data in the fields.

Could you supply some more information about how you are doing the export.
