Sidebar Gadgets

I'm not sure if my new thread I typed about this posted earlier so
forgive me if I repost. I'm getting a new notebook with Vista Premium
and wanted to know what sidebar gadgets are everyone's favorites. I
want a digital clock with date and time...month date year if possible
and has anyone used the Weather Channel's gadget? thanks in advance
for helping me out.

I have the analog clock and the calendar that seem to be very popular. On my
computer with a 21 inch screen I also have the AccuWeather gadget, the BBC
Radio player, a countdown clock, the yellow sticky notes item for quick
reminders to myself and the CPU/Memory gauge thing just because. On another
computer with a much smaller screen I have only the calendar, clock and
weather gadgets.

Why should anyone else's favorites matter to you? One of my favorite
gadgets is one that tracks the price of the Euro against the US
dollar. Unless you are an American who frequently travels in Europe,
as I am, that gadget is probably useless to you.

The point is that we all have different interests, and there's no
reason why your choice of gadgets should resemble mine in the
slightest.

Agree. I don't understand why people want a clock in the sidebar when
there is already one in the system tray. One gadget I do like though is
a search box for Microsoft's Encarta online encyclopedia.

SphereTimer is a small clock, alarm, chronograph, countdown
timer, etc. with skins. It shows time, AM/PM, and day of the
week. Free, of course.

Tray space is precious, and the built-in clock has characters
too small for me.

I agree with you there.

And I don't like or use Encarta at all.

Showing that we agree on one thing, but disagree on another. Neither
of us is necessarily right, but we have different tastes and
interests, which is exactly my point.

Gee some people are touchy on these forums. Mooky asked a simple question
about what gadgets people were using and got told why should he care. Of
course his interests are different than mine which are different from yours,
but so what? Sharing this kind of information is a far better use of the
forum than the usual twattle between Microsoft haters and defenders.

Thanks...I was shocked about that too..like they got all offended that I asked a simple question to see what everyone liked..I know we are all different, but heck, can't we just share and recommend stuff to each other? Isn't that was the forums should be used for? Also, are there any good email checking gadgets? I found a few in the galley, but wanted some user opinions...
