Sidebar Error

When I try to open Windows Sidebar it says 'Windows Sidebar is managed by
your system administrator.' However, my user profile is the only one set up
on this computer and it is also an administrator account. What is causing the
problem? My computer did come with Google Desktop Sidebar installed, but I
uninstalled it because I feared it may be causing the problem, however it is
still occuring.

Hello Greg,

If you are running a Home edition of Vista, you won't have gpedit.msc, and
will have to use the registry edit fix:

Click Start, type regedit.exe and press ENTER

Navigate to the following branch:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \
Policies \ Windows \ Sidebar

In the right-pane, delete the value named TurnOffSidebar (if found)

Repeat the same in the following branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \
Policies \ Windows \ Sidebar

Exit Registry Editor
