Sidebar error

Sidebar starts up and then says it has an error and shuts down. Maybe
a gadget is causing this, but how can I remove gadgets and start fresh
when Sidebar won't run?

Update to current level Java and everything works fine.

I've got the same problem where my Sidebar won't load. It shows up on the
processes list, then just disppears!!!!
the problem started when I installed the IBM JRE that comes with my laptop,
but after uninstalling it, it still doesn't work. Everyone keeps telling me
to reinstall java but how do you restore the original one that comes with
Vista?
and if that doesn't work, is there a way to reinstall the sidebar from the
CD or control panel or something?
