sidebar crashes computer

Everytime I use the sidebar the clock appears fine, then the calendar opens
multiple times; appearing as loads of scrolling icons and then locks up the
computer.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem.

The calendar just keeps appearing until eventually it takes up all my
computers avaliable ram (2gb)

I am having this same problem. Woke up this morning to my sidebar full of
calendars, and my computer was locked up. I managed to get sidebar to not
load at startup for now, but I'd like to get it working again. Every time I
try to manually open the sidebar, it does the same thing. Takes forever to
do anything, then loads multiple calendars until it uses all the memory and
crashes the computer.
