Sidebar and Desktop Display?!

I have an HP laptop and my Windows Vista Sidebar slowed down and stopped
working. I got it back up again, but the portion of the desktop behind it is
now black.. instead of translucent as it's supposed to be. How can I get this
back to normal? It's been this way for a few days and I havent been able to
figure it out.

Hi,

In display properties, go to themes and switch back to a Vista theme.
