Is there any way to shut down a computer using remote desktop? I have
searched and searched for ways to do it, but the only way I can think of is
to program a small piece of software to perform the task run from the
computer I am trying to shut down. If anyone has any simpler ways please let
me know, I'm not too good at the technical stuff

The shutdown command (line) or with the remote machine full screen,
CTRL+ALT+END..

Alternately. Open a command prompt window. Type shutdown -f -s
