Shuts down and reboots by itself?

Just after Logging on as Administrator, W2K Shuts down,
Reboots by itself, more than once per session. Help!!!!!!

I've got the same thing happening to me. I have managed

to stop it by pressing F8 (on my machine) on reboot which
gave me a list where i chose "last known good
configuration" on the next screen i selected L and <enter>
The system booted up ok and I was able to get into the
machine. I think there is still a problem on my machine as
it wont shutdown, it just hangs and a normal reboot sends
it back into a loop. I loaded SP4 but the problem still
persists and virus checkers didn't find anything wrong.
Looks like a clean install soon. Good Luck.

I'll pass along to you the same advice given to me by Pegasus (MVP)
when *I* was having boot problems: Start disabling stuff, remove
all non-essential cards and devices, and see if you can boot up in
safe mode (by pressing F8 on start-up). If you can, then use msconfig
to disable everything (http://www.svrops.com/svrops/dwnldoth.htm),
and see if you can boot up normally. If so, start re-enabling stuff
(starting with system services) one at a time, rebooting each time,
until you find the culprit
(by process of elimination - or something like that).

This was a clean install, With updates and SP4 and a new

Harddrive. If you look at other post's with the same
problem. I found some responces, well they didnt work for
me,
