Shuting Down Windows

Suddenly, when my computer goes to shut down or
automatically to shut down, it get stuck on a window XP
saying "preparing to shut down". It never shuts down at
all. Even if I use ctrl+alt+delete nothing happens. I
have to turn my computer completely off by the hard-drive
power button to turn it off! How do I get Windows XP to
go back to shutting down on it's own or when I press
sleep. I recently down-loaded 2003 Norton Systom Works
with an option for "Go-Back", could this be causing the
problem. When I had Norton 2002, I never had the
problem. PLEASE help me!!!! Thanks!

Try a system restore before you downloaded and installed Norton.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System tools>System Restore.
