Windows XP has a command-line utility called shutdown.exe. for exact
parameters, open a MS-DOS box and type "Shutdown /?"
Visit www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm if you want to download the
shutdown utility (different from that of XP) which supports power management
feature.
Scroll about halfay down the page to "Quick Shutdown or
Reboot shortcut." It took me about 1 minute to make the
shortcut and I'm a real newbie about computers.
