Shutdown

When I try to shut down computer by going to start,
shutdown, and clicking the shutdown OK button, the
computer just returns to the normal windows screen as
nothing happened. If I try the same shutdown a second
time, the computer usually will shutdown normal.
Why does it take two times to shut down? Any known fix?

are you using remote desktop computer ? maybe it's that, well I dont have any other idea

Nope. Just the standard desktop type computer. Also, once
in a while it will hang on the second attempt also and
then the only thing is a reset or reboot.
