After i log in window admin account, while the system is still loading my
setting, the computer will just shut down and restart, hence i could not get
into my admin account. Before this, i found that my PC is infected with
spyware - spysheriff and it keep on loading my pc with all kinds of website,
ad & plugin. Sometimes when i restart the PC again, error message pop up
mentioning about vdmt16.sys. and advise to clean up new installed software.
But as i could not log in as administrator, i could uninstall or delete any
new file or restore to an earlier date. I try to run the pc in safe mode by
pressing F8 but i can't get into the setup menu, or the arrow in my keyboard
can't move to the choice of safe mode. I try to download spyware removal
program, again i could not run it because i could only access another user
account and not the admin account. How could i solve this problem? Thanks.

Honestly the fastest easiest way to fix this is to format the drive and do a
clean install of the system.

There are a few ways to remedy the problem. Try booting in Safe Mode and see
if it will let you log in. If you can , run the Error Checking feature. To do
it, right-click on the C:\Drive (in Windows Explorer or My Computer) and
click on Properties. Next click on the Tools tab and click on Check Now.
Check the box next to Automatically fix file system errors. When the dialog
box pops up click on Yes to perform the check at next restart. Close
everything up and restart the PC.

The program should scan the drive for errors and fix them. It will reboot
when finished. Try to login in Normal mode. If that does not work, go back
into Safe Mode and run the File System Checker. You will need you install CD
unless there is an I386 folder with all the files on your C:\Drive (C:\I386).
To run it, click on Start then Run, type sfc /scannow in the box and the
program should run.

The System File Checker seems to fix a large variety of problems but there
is one issue that I have found. If you installed SP2 and the original CD has
SP1 or no service pack, you will have to reinstall them after running SFC.
The program will compare files on the CD to the ones on the drive and
overwrite existing files. I have done this numerous times and it works.

If all else fails, take out the hard drive and back up your data to another
PC then format the drive and reinstall XP.
