Shutdown Question

Hi!
My machine has ATX power supply. When I press power
button on CPU, or press power button from keyboard, or
shutdown from START menu. My question is this, all
shutdown options are performs same function. Shutdown from
START menu take around 60% more time than other options.
Is there any difference between them.
 
Always shut down from the Start menu.
The other options are not allowing your computer to shut down properly.
Files and programs could become corrupted.
You could lose data.

Programs must end/close.
Settings need to be saved.
Both of these are performed by shutting down via Start | Shut Down.
