Shutdown Problem

I run Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Which shut down fine till I installed
PC-cillin. Now when I shut down I get the logging off screen as normal then
the Shutting down screen at which point it hangs still showing this screen
and doesn't power off.
How do I sort this problem?

Lamboali,
have you solved your problem? I am experiencing the same problem, and Dell
nor the PC-Cillin support seem to help. My computer is brand new, out of the
box today-- I can't believe this is happening! Thank you

Check your internet connections. I solved a similar problem by stopping a
wireless connection to an access point on my local network. It seems that
being connected by ethernet and wireless at the same time keeps the system
from shutting down (found this out by going through a diagnostic
startup--problem happened with the microsoft WLAN service).

I'm having the same problem and I use Windows Live OneCare. I don't want to
uninstall Windows Live OneCare because I renew my subscription every year. I
end up unplugging the computer which does the trick. Are there other ways of
shutting down my computer running Windows Vista?

Your reply is helpful, but I think that Windows Vista should automatically do
these things in order to shut down a computer. I hope that Microsoft has a
fix for this. In Windows XP, we were able to send reports to Microsoft when
something like this occurs. But in Windows Vista, it doesn't ask us to send
reports when something goes wrong. I think that sending reports to Microsoft
from computers running Windows Vista would be helpful. Thanks.

Go to the Problem Reports and Solutions center control panel and click
"Change Settings" - this will allow you turn on sending on problem reports
by default it it's not already on, if I recall correctly.
