Shutdown of computer takes a long time

When I shutdown my computer it either takes a long time to
close everything and shutdown or it starts to shutdown and
then I'm right back where I started, the computer running.
Does anyone have any ideas on this problem.

Do you have anti-virus software running on this PC?
Are the dat files up to date?
Has it found any Viruses?
Maybe uninstall the anti-virus program and see what
happens to shutdown.

For slow shutdown problems try Robin Caron's free UPHClean utility.
Read about it here: http://www.citrix4ge.de/ctxsffaq/index.htm#prof
and send email to Robin (at address listed on website) to get it free.
