My Computer under Win 2K looks up after I do shut down.
This has been happening since Monday. I did have all of
the service packs on here and critical updates. Can anyone
suggest how to repair this problem without having to
format my hard drive?

You may have an unsigned driver causing the problem. You can identify
unsigned drivers by using this article:

259283 How to Use the File Signature Verification Tool to Find Third-Party

You could try disabling the unsigned third-party drivers.

It's possible that one of the drivers that are loaded are interfering with
the shutdown process.
If it's a third-party driver, the easiest to tell is to boot into Safe Mode
and see if the problem happens.
