Shut Down Screen

I downloaded the XP updates and now my TURN OF
COMPUTERshutdown screen is like the old W98 with a screen
showing SHUTDOWN and to see RESTART there is a down arrow
to select. The screen I had was with the dot in the
circle for shutdown
 
I'm guessing at this, but it's something to try while waiting on some real
help.

Right click on the taskbar and select properties. Click the start menu tab
and if it's on "classic start menu", then change it back to "start menu".
