Hello all
I have a problem with my computer. I am using windows 98 OS. Last week I loaded windows server into my system. Now the problem is that when I shut down the machine with windows 98 system halts immediately, But when I give the shutdown command for windows 2000 instead of halting the machine it gives the message its safe to turn of your computer. Anyone got some ideas

try

Start
Run
type
Regedit

<Registry Editor Opens>

Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
Microsoft\Windows NT
CurrentVersion
Winlogon

right hand pane option

PowerdownAfterShutdown

The value should be set to 0 not 1

also check that your BIOS is up to date with upgrades.

hope that helps?
