shut down prob

hi there.when i try to shut down my pc,it has started to restart instead of
shutting down eg...'start..turn off computer..then restarts insted of
shutting down..any suggestions?....it does shutdown if i keep the power
button pressed for a few seconds

Do a scan for viruses using up-to-date definitions and download, install,
