shut down or power down issue

my pc never shuts down it gets as far as saving user info
then says shutting down windows and gets stuck like that
but the hdd light flashes very faintly every now and then
if you know how to fix this please help me.
.. I have now been corrected that its a powerdown issue
cause it gets past shut down restart dialoge box but gets
stuck just before it would normally turn off.

Still no luck none of these fixes have worked and the
problems still persist especially the cpuidle.exe which
is coming on every time i restart even if i have applied
any fixes also it is not the system idle process thats
taking the processing power but the cpuidle.exe taking it
making me unable to run any apps or anything and is there
a way of disabling cpuidle.exe and would this be
advisable or is it important.

what company i do not know where it came from this is
enough i have had it with microsoft most of my friends
have now gone to linux and mac and i will do the same
probably buy a mac.
