Jeremy

I have a user who has lost the ability to shut down.
When he clicks 'Start' the menu does not show 'Shut
Down'. If he types CNTRL-ALT-DEL Shut Down is greyed
out. If I log on as me Shut Down is there and works
fine. Is there a way to fix this without rebuilding this
user's profile?

Thanks,

Hi Jeremy:

It sounds like there is a policy placed on this user - specifially, this
one: run gpedit.msc - then under Local Computer \ User Configuration \
Administrative Templates \ Start Menu and Task Bar - check the policy
setting for Disable and Remove the Shut Down Command.

Thanks for the help,
Interestingly enough there were no polices enabled in the
path you specified. Just for grins I thought I would
click disable for this policy to see if anything would
change. Sure enough it did. I now the 'Shut Down' back
visable. I don't imagine this is a correct fix but it
worked????
