Shut down blues

Hi!
Please help.
Every time I shut down my XP pro., I get the end programe dialogue boxes,
with progress bar abd option to End Now with warning to lose unsaved data,
first with Explorer, and if I choose to End Now, another box for connection
tray comes up. Only aftr 15 x2=30 seconds I get the shut down bells ringing.
I hav eto attend to shut down menu.
Any clue to tweak the XP Pro in this matter?

Open the registry editor (regedit.exe or regedt32.exe)
and head to this key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP

Now set "AutoEndTasks" (a REG_SZ value) to 1
