Shrink Volume

Hi to all, I'm trying to shrink volume c: in windows vista home
premium on a sony vaio xl301.
After some seconds i get an "unexpected error".
Does someone can help me please

Yes Shawn, exactly the same!
The only operation i made before this try was to disable the system
restore service in order to increase the "Size of Available Shrink
Space".
Now the total size of the partition is about 223 GB and the Size of
Available Shrink Space is about 200 GB.
In my try i've set the shrink space to about 170 GB. I made a try even
from the command prompt (as administrator) using diskpart.
In this case the error was "access denied"
