shrink "thumbs.db"?

After I've moved most of the photo files from a picture folder the
thumbs.db file remains huge even though there are very few files left.
I have tried refreshing all the thumbnails but that doesn't shrink the
thumbs.db file.

Is there anyway I can refresh and shrink the thumbs.db file short of
deleting it and letting the system recreate it?

Thank you.

That is much the easiest. It will say it is a system file, are you
sure. Yes you are

Hi,

Not that I know of. The simplest way would be to simply change the view,
delete the existing thumbs.db file, then go back to the thumbnail view and
let the system recreate the file.
